So here we go. I’m finally writing again after being away from blogging for years. I think the last time I blogged regularly was in 2009. I will try to port those old blogs over to my new blog.
If you know me you know that I am passionate about life. I have an awesome family and enjoy spending time with my wife and my children. I have a full time job, run my own business, freelance on the side, and also seem to be in a persistent state of home renovation.
Writing, like working hard to renovate my house and keep my yard in good order, is a cathartic experience. When you are sweating it out doing demo work around the house to make way for new designs, you have a lot of time to think. When you’re out in the yard pushing the lawn mower you have time to be with yourself and reflect about things which may be bothering you.
In the past, I have blogged about the crazy things my kids do to make me laugh. Of course I will still do that. However, this time around, I’m also blogging my own professional renaissance. I hope to bridge that gap and provide valuable content for people who are either entering the web development industry, or like me, may have decades of experience, yet object oriented programming may be a totally new area.
So we will see how it goes. Maybe a few people will read this. If they don’t, then that’s fine too. Being transparent forces accountability. I believe that you are what other people perceive you to be. If their perception does not align with what you believe about yourself – change their perception of you. It’s just that simple. Here we go…
